VaultInk: my Obsidian notes on a pocket e-readerVaultInk is new free firmware for the Xteink X4 Pro: books as in CrossPoint Reader, plus Obsidian vaults you can read, search and follow links in, in Greek and English. Why I started it, what works on day one, and what comes next. →Windows 10 at the office: this year the extension costs doubleWindows 10 support ended on 14 October 2025, and the only official way to keep getting security updates is Microsoft's ESU program, which starts at 61 dollars per PC and doubles every year. What it costs an office with 10 PCs, the Windows 10 Enterprise LTSC 2019 exception that is covered until 2029, the risk of bypassing the TPM check for Windows 11, and the list worth making before you pay. →Crackling audio in Renoise on Omarchy: the realtime fix, without rtkitRenoise crackled and popped on Omarchy because nothing on the system had realtime scheduling; even PipeWire was running its audio threads as normal processes. The fix is realtime-privileges plus the realtime group, a full reboot (a logout is not enough when lingering is on), and JACK at 48 kHz in Renoise. Installing rtkit on this setup got every ALSA client killed, so don't. →PHP2Shell: if your site runs on WordPress, update PHP, not the pluginsTwo critical PHP bugs, CVE-2026-109618 and CVE-2026-109619, rated 9.2 out of 10, were fixed on 21 October after the details leaked a day early, and attack attempts started within hours. Updating WordPress or its plugins does not cover them; only the PHP version does. What happened, who is affected, how to check your own site in five minutes, plus the nginx fixes of 14 October and the npm worm of this month. →ShadowRealms AI 0.29 to 0.31: the Storyteller remembersThree releases in two days. The AI Storyteller now reads the chronicle so far before every reply, so it remembers what happened three nights ago; when an admin kills a character, the local model writes its death from the story, in the chronicle’s language; and a new admin page does the killing, the reviving and keeps the deaths log, with the fallen shown on the profile and the sheet. Plus a system specification for the whole app. →ShadowRealms AI 0.23 to 0.28: the chronicle so farSix releases in a day. The local model writes your chronicle up as minutes, night by night, with every event pointing back to its messages; the minutes export as Markdown or PDF, in the character sheet’s look or a horror look; the Storyteller edits and translates them; and anyone who returns after half a day gets a “Previously on…”. Plus cloud voices, opt-in. →A whole board, out of the browserA new small tool: sticky-board-export takes a Sticky Studio board and turns it into an Obsidian vault, an Obsidian Canvas and a PDF. It reads only a saved copy of the board's data and never touches the board. →ShadowRealms AI 0.16 to 0.22: the chat gets a voiceSeven releases in one night, all about voice: hear the chat read aloud in English or Greek, with a voice for each character’s gender and a narrator per chronicle, record your lines up to three minutes and check the transcript before you send, and hear and read everything in your own language. All of it runs on my own server. →ShadowRealms AI 0.15: ghouls, in V5 and in ClassicShadowRealms AI 0.15.0 brings ghoul sheets for both editions: V5 retainers and player ghouls by the corebook and the Players Guide, Classic ghouls by Ghouls: Fatal Addiction with their Blood Pool, and a print version of the character sheet PDF that looks the same in every viewer. →ShadowRealms AI 0.14: V5 characters by the book and a new trailerShadowRealms AI 0.11.0 to 0.14.1 bring Forge v2: V5 character creation in the corebook's order, a rules catalog from 24 books, Guided mode, a check on the server and the sheet as a PDF. Plus a new two-and-a-half-minute trailer, in English and in Greek. →Skills for dwm-titus: sending assistants to the right filesTwo skills for Chris Titus's titus-ai, so a terminal assistant that changes or debugs dwm-titus works on the real files and stays out of the folders updates replace. Plus a proposal: Diagnose with AI when an app crashes or hangs. →Patches for nema, Thanos Apollo's XMPP app for AndroidMy friend Thanos Apollo is building nema, an XMPP messenger for Android. I send it patches by email: day separators, room names, thread markers and more. →Hidden Wi-Fi, keyboard layouts and a clock with seconds for Chris Titus's dwmSix more pull requests for dwm-titus: join a hidden Wi-Fi network from the panel, a keyboard layout pill ported from my Omarchy plugin, optional seconds in the clock, clearer docs on what survives an update, and a tidier Settings > Input. →Hotkeys and hints for Omarchy's emoji pickerRecents in Emojis & Nerd Fonts for Omarchy got Alt+number hotkeys, a hint beside each glyph and two tidy columns. Three review rounds with the maintainer, and it's out in 1.2.1. →Keyboard Layout 1.2.5: ready for Omarchy’s new Caps LockOmarchy’s next release gives Caps Lock back and makes Shift+Caps Lock the Compose key. Keyboard Layout 1.2.5 makes sure a Caps Lock switch key keeps switching. →RecMeets v0.31.0: both tracks stay in stepWhy there's a new RecMeets: the original Meeting Recorder brought two fixes worth having. A stalled device no longer shifts your track against the other side, and actions can run by themselves when a transcript is done. →Kitty now follows the theme in Chris Titus's dwmA pull request for dwm-titus: kitty used to stay on Nord whatever theme you picked. Now it follows the theme, and existing installs get fixed on their own, with a backup. →CrossInk-Indic now reads Burmese, on every Xteinkv1.6.0-indic.3, and indic.4 with the spacing fix: Burmese in Noto Sans Myanmar with its own shaper, lines that break between syllables, and a Burmese menu, for the X3, X4, X4 Pro, X4 Classic and Sticky. →CrossInk-Indic now reads 13 Indic languages, on every Xteinkv1.6.0-indic.2: Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Bengali, Assamese, Punjabi, Gujarati, Odia, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, Malayalam and Sinhala, each with its script and its menu built into the firmware, for the X3, X4, X4 Pro, X4 Classic and Sticky. →Hindi has arrived in CrossInk, on every Xteink readerCrossInk-Indic: Hindi books and a Hindi menu on the X3, X4, X4 Pro, X4 Classic and Sticky, with the Devanagari fonts and shaping built into the firmware. Free, open, and public as of today. →Tooltips are back on the Omarchy barNew versions of five of my Omarchy plugins: tooltips show again on 4.0.4, tested one by one, and all of them are ready for Qt 6.12. →Recents for Omarchy's emoji pickerA pull request for Emojis & Nerd Fonts for Omarchy: a new Recents tab with what you last typed or copied, emojis, Nerd Font glyphs and kaomoji, with search and two columns. →ShadowRealms AI 0.10: V5, Greek, new foundations and a trailerShadowRealms AI's biggest update: Classic and V5 rules, the interface and the Storyteller in Greek, a gothic redesign with 97 glyphs, a Vite rebuild, and a two-minute trailer in two languages. →Three fixes for eucWatch, from Igor's fork to the projecteucWatch puts your electric unicycle's dash on a cheap smartwatch. A fork of it held fixes that never made it back. Today three of them went to enaon, and all three were merged the same evening. →A model of my own on Hugging Face: RecMeets' Layasomniusx/recmeets-laya-words finds which words of a transcript were misheard, in Greek and English. Trained on my own computer, open for anyone who needs it. →Greek has arrived in CrossInkGreek letters, proper hyphenation and a Greek menu for the open firmware of Xteink e-readers, built in under 24 hours. A test build for the X4 Pro. →Windows VM for Omarchy: Windows on the barA new Omarchy plugin, already at 1.1.0: Windows VM status on the bar, connecting without a password, RDP that reconnects by itself, restart and shutdown, and live figures that cost nothing while you are not looking. →Keyboard Layout for Omarchy 1.2.2: four layouts and backupsA new release of the Keyboard Layout plugin for Omarchy: up to four layouts with variants, every keyboard switching together, precise input.lua edits and backups with restore. →Coming soon: RecMeetsI am building RecMeets — private meeting recording with local transcription for Linux and Windows. It is in the works and will be released soon. →The l_ mark beside lefteros_Today the square l_ mark sits to the left of lefteros_ in the header. Same ink, same paper, same green bar. →ShadowRealms AI on Lefteros.comToday I put ShadowRealms AI on Lefteros.com — a local narrator for tabletop RPGs. The project page keeps 31 May 2026, the snapshot of v0.8.0. →Seasonal styles on Lefteros.comLefteros.com gains subtle seasonal styles, controlled from the editor with a Greek-calendar automatic mode and respect for privacy and reduced motion. →The old logo, a new chapterThe LEFTEROS company identity moves into the archive as this website becomes my personal home for code, projects and notes. →The 2022 company privacy policy — historical archiveAn English rendering of the former company privacy policy, retained as historical material. It does not govern the current personal website. →EucWorldPebble: your electric unicycle on a Pebble watchYour unicycle's speed, battery, temperature and alarms on your wrist: the Pebble watchapp that talks to EUC World, in two versions and for every Pebble model. →The first 1/10-scale Ancient Greece map in Minecraft and the SKAI news segmentOn 13 February 2016 the 1/10-scale Ancient Greece map that had been built in Minecraft reached the SKAI prime-time news bulletin. →The OnePlus Greece community — invites, the One, and a Greek homeIn April 2015 oneplusgreece.com was the Greek home for people waiting on an invite for the OnePlus One: guides, news, Tapatalk on the phone, and a community sharing codes when the handset was not on shop shelves. →GameAthlon 2013, the RFS Dev Team and the 8,000-player recordIn June 2013 the RFS Dev Team presented a fully working custom Minecraft server at the HAEC GameAthlon, keeping over 8,000 players connected at the same time — a record for that era. →The RFS Dev Team website — the digital home of the Greek Minecraft communityIn 2013 I built the entire RFS Dev Team website to serve the Minecraft community of Greece, Europe and the whole world — and its archive still lives in the Wayback Machine. → All articles →06 / ARCHIVE
