The personal website

lefteros.com is my personal website. I, Lefteris Iliadis / SomniusX, am responsible for processing the personal data it handles. Here you will find projects, technical notes, public contributions and material from my previous professional work.

For privacy questions or to exercise your rights, use the contact form with “Privacy” as the subject. Your request does not need to be public. This notice covers only the personal website; it does not cover independent customer services or other sites reached through links.

Browsing without advertising tracking

Public pages do not use tracking cookies, advertising pixels, Google Analytics, remarketing or advertising profiles. That is why there is no cookie banner: there is nothing to consent to. The language switches with a plain link, and your choice is not stored.

Public pages store nothing in your browser — no cookies, no local or session storage. The site’s seasonal look is worked out inside your browser from the date; it is neither sent anywhere nor kept.

Fonts and images load from this site itself, not from third parties. Search runs inside your browser against a public index; what you type is never sent to a search service. Reading requires no account, no location access and no newsletter subscription.

The editorial area is a different matter: only I sign in there, through GitHub, and my browser keeps the necessary security session. It has nothing to do with tracking readers.

Hosting and technical data

To send you a page, the server necessarily receives your IP address and technical details of the request. The hosting provider’s access and security logs may contain the time, the requested address, the response code, browser details and the page you came from, when your browser reports it.

This information is used to run the site, diagnose faults and prevent abuse — not to build advertising profiles. The legal basis is the legitimate interest in secure, reliable operation, using as little data as possible. The absence of cookies does not make a request to the server anonymous.

Contact

The contact form asks for your email address, so I can reply, and your message. Your name and a subject or project reference are optional. Without a reply address and a message, the form will not send. Please do not include passwords, payment details or sensitive information the conversation does not need.

The message reaches my personal email through a mail delivery service. I use it to reply, to handle that specific request and for whatever follows from it. I do not add you to a marketing list and I do not publish your message.

For general questions, the legal basis is my legitimate interest in answering my correspondence. If you ask about a specific collaboration, processing may be necessary for steps you request before a contract. Requests to exercise your rights are handled to meet the relevant legal obligations. Simply visiting the site is not treated as blanket consent for any other purpose.

To limit abusive submissions, the form keeps a cryptographically derived identifier of your IP address (not the address itself) and the time of submission. The message text is not stored there. Entries older than one hour are deleted at the next submission; if no new submission arrives, they may remain until the next cleanup. Application error messages do not record the content of your correspondence.

Before the form is sent, your browser passes the “I am not a robot” check: it solves a small computational puzzle issued by this site itself. No third-party service is involved, no cookies are used and your behaviour on the page is not recorded. The server keeps only the signature of each solved puzzle, so it cannot be used twice, and deletes it at the first cleanup after it expires ten minutes later.

Public articles and references

The archive contains texts I wrote and published myself, credited to the original source where there is one. Copies from Linux-User.gr keep the language and link of the original post. I do not bring other users’ full discussions here as my own articles.

An article may mention people, groups or public contributions where they relate to the topic. For a correction or removal of personal data, contact me and include the link to the specific content. I retain relevant public history on the basis of a legitimate interest in personal expression and documentation, always weighing the rights of the people concerned.

External links lead to services with their own policies. If you visit GitHub, Linux-User.gr or another service, you do so by your own choice. Search engines may index public pages; the copies they keep are outside this site’s control.

Providers and retention

The hosting provider serves the site and delivers its pages. Correspondence passes through email transport and storage providers. GitHub hosts the site’s private source code, runs the automatic publishing of new versions and is used for the editor’s sign-in. Your form submission is never sent to GitHub.

I keep correspondence for as long as I need to reply and follow up. Where it relates to a collaboration or a legal obligation, I keep only the relevant records, and only for as long as required. Technical logs and backups follow the necessary security, diagnostic and recovery cycle. I periodically check whether there is still a reason to keep them.

Providers may use infrastructure or support in other countries. Before I use a service that involves transferring data outside the EEA, I confirm that the appropriate mechanism and safeguards are in place. Through the contact form you can ask for information about the providers and safeguards that apply to your own correspondence.

Your rights

Depending on the legal basis and conditions, you may request access to your data, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or portability, and object to processing based on legitimate interests. Where processing relies on consent, you may withdraw it at any time without affecting the lawfulness of earlier processing.

A little additional information may be needed to confirm your identity and locate the data. I normally respond within one month; if a lawful extension is needed, I will let you know. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Hellenic Data Protection Authority or another competent supervisory authority. The site makes no automated decisions with legal or similarly significant effects on visitors.

How the site was built

The site is built with Astro. AI coding tools helped during its development: Claude, Cursor, OpenCode, Codebuff and OpenAI Codex with the Astra model. This credits the build tools only: public pages have no chatbot and make no model calls, and the contact form does not forward messages to an AI model.

Previous policy and updates

The 2022 company policy remains as a historical article, with personal contact details removed. It describes services that no longer exist and does not apply to the current personal site.

I will update this notice whenever the site’s features or the way I process data change. The Greek and English versions say exactly the same thing.
