When something works, DO NOT TOUCH IT!
For some reason I had completely forgotten that “law”, and today when I saw a post on the Dropbox forum titled “Release Candidate – 1.0.0” I ran without a second thought to download it. One minute later the “old” stable Dropbox I had used for so long was in the Trash and the new one crashed, made Dropbox not work even after a restart, and now even the old version would not work. Peak!
With a little searching on the forum I found how to recover the situation, but by the time I did my nerves were in tatters. So… from now on…
- A “Release Candidate” is one thing and a “Final Version” is another!
- And much more important: When something works, DO NOT TOUCH IT!
