New look & additions

I would like to apologise for not writing lately; various things have come up, good and bad, and it was very hard to devote more time. In my hurry I also made the great mistake of updating the site theme without noticing what the popup told me. What it said was that it would mess everything up in general; not that the update process is wrong, but it erased my own changes (changes such as static texts in PHP to cut MySQL calls, and a full Hellenisation of it).

Now we have a new theme on the site, which basically looks better from what friends and members have told me, which today I managed to Hellenise and put the aforementioned (static texts etc.) back, and now it runs like a bullet!

Also, as you know, a Treasure Hunt was to take place which in the end will not, for reasons I had not mentioned before. We did not have full participation from some sponsors who at the last minute changed their minds because the riddles I presented were quite hard. In my opinion Mac users would have LOVED them, but I could not get that through, because unfortunately in Greece there are not many like us, even if we grow day by day. Companies have odd views anyway. I do not know; maybe if I approach them better in the future we will manage something. We will see!

Another topic left aside is finishing the OSX section; I have not forgotten you who experiment and want something more than a computer that also runs OSX. Soon even more files will go up, and we hope for support from other members to fill it with content.

Third-party Hellenisations seem to have brought traffic both to my site and to others, which is good, because it seems people care about having their programs in Greek. And I can now announce that we have permission from the creator of Greek-Mac.com to include his code in future packages of my own Hellenisations of our everyday programs and in possible future improvements. (Because it does not take many improvements on Snow Leopard; they have compiled most nibs so we have no room for translation..)

Soon also iPhone apps in Greek; Cydia has already been translated by friend Sepsis of iPhoneTech.gr and you will find it in the 1st Greek Repository for iPhone of HellasProject.com at the url

there you will also find Greek logos among other things. The Repository, a source of Greek content for the iPhone, will be refreshed now and then with whatever I/we have made as a team, as well as with members’ apps who want them on Cydia without going to the App Store (soon one of our own too!! I am preparing it)
