LEFTEROS / PERSONAL NOTES
Instapaper app (standalone) is what we need

Historical text from HellasProject (2009–2014). It is not current advice or a present-day service.

Lately a lot of people use a service that starts “free” and offers an easy way to keep articles, pages, and anything interesting aside so we can look at them later when we have time.
I had been trying for a while to stash the links I collect in bookmarks and bookmark folders, then I needed cross-PC/browser/platform sync, which does not work for me and often mixes things up or does nothing. Then I tried emailing them to myself, which made a mess of Inbox, and even with Priority Inbox and starring and so on… no, it just does not work.
I had seen long ago what Instapaper is and what it can do, and I thought… now I will get tangled with a 3rd-party app to do my job, who knows.. nah.. “big” mistake.. I wish I had understood earlier. So I took the plunge and made an app using a well-known program that wraps a page with custom Greasemonkey scripts and much more.
Enjoy Instapaper App with a HUD look..

Download the app
[download id="38"]
Some of its features:
- Small file size (~10 mb)
- Light and relatively small RAM use (~15 to ~25 mb)
- HUD look; black looks great and we know it
- Ability to change the look using Greasemonkey scripts
- Ability to use basic browser functions

Also if you open Open User Scripts Folder ..

click for larger
and copy in [download id="37"], it will give Instapaper another lease of life, and without ads..
Edit:
And second, if you use extensions/addons in your browsers you can use Instachrome for Google Chrome or Chromium and the equivalent for Firefox and others, which lets you add pages and the rest to Instapaper; Instapaper App will update automatically too.
That is all for now.
