iBooks for iPhone only on the 3GS model

iPhone 3G users look like they will be left complaining, since the iBooks app will apparently run only on the 3GS and of course the iPhone 4. Developers with access to the 4th GM of iOS report they are directed to download iBooks. As engadget reports, they could not run the app on iPhone 3G, guessing Apple has left the feature off that model.
Apple does not include all iOS 4 features in the upgrade for iPhone 3G, leaving some out, for example multitasking. The main reason in our view is performance. iOS 4 even with fewer features is a fairly “heavy” version, which makes the 3G slower.
