Here are instructions to start setting up your new Apple Magic Trackpad.
Step one
First install the Update for the Magic Trackpad and the Multi-Touch Trackpad from here.
Step two
Make sure Bluetooth is on. You can turn Bluetooth on or off using the Bluetooth icon at the top right of the screen on the menu bar.
Step three
Turn the trackpad on by pressing and holding the on/off button until the light shows it is on.
Step four
Click System Preferences from the apple at the top of the screen on the menu bar.
Step five
Click Trackpad in the System Preferences window.
Step six
Click Continue when your “Apple Wireless Trackpad” is found.
Step seven
You will see some sliders and checkboxes so you can customize the trackpad.
Use the sliders to raise or lower Tracking Speed, Double-Click Speed, and Scrolling Speed.
Use the checkboxes to enable Multi-Touch and Click so the device can also do the following, after you choose:
● Use one finger to point, tap to click, drag items on screen, and secondary click.
● Drag two fingers up, down, or sideways to scroll the current window.
● Use two fingers to pinch zoom in or out of PDFs, images, photos, and more.
● Use two fingers to rotate photos, pages, and more.
● Drag three fingers to quickly browse a text file, move to the next or previous photo, and more.
● Drag four fingers left or right to enable Application Switcher and switch between apps.
● Drag four fingers up or down to show the Desktop, or show all active windows in Exposé and switch among them.
You will also notice remaining battery level for the trackpad at the bottom of this options window.
