CSS Image Encoder is a handy little tool that encodes images on your pages as a base64 string. That lets images appear extra fast because the page does not load them from an external source, which drastically raises rendering speed. CSS Image Encoder offers:
- Support for five file types, including jpeg, jpeg2000, gif, png, and bmp.
- Preview of images from the app in your browser before export.
- Export of the base64 code as a stylesheet class you can attach to an existing sheet or a new one.
Note: This is the free, ad-supported edition of CSS Image Encoder. An ad-free version is available from their site for $2.99.
Requirements: Mac OS X 10.5 or newer.
